Setting up your Meta Business Suite correctly is essential for managing your restaurant’s ads on Facebook and Instagram.
Logging into Meta Business Suite with Facebook
Navigate to the Meta Business Suite login page.
Click on the "Get Started" and a new window will open
Click on the "Log in with Facebook" button.
Enter your Facebook email/username and password.
Click on the "Log In" button.
Navigating to the Business Account Dropdown
Once logged in, look for the top-left corner of the dashboard.
Click on the dropdown menu.
If a Business Account Doesn't Exist
Creating a Business Account:
Click on "Create Business Account".
Fill in the required details:
Name: Enter your restaurant's name.
Business Email: Enter your main Facebook email or business email.
Click "Submit" or "Continue".
Navigating to Business Settings
In the dropdown, click on the gear icon labeled "Business Settings".
Accessing Assets
In the left sidebar, click on "Assets".
Managing Facebook Pages
Click on "Facebook Pages".
If you have a Facebook page not linked to the Business:
Click on "Claim Facebook Page".
Type in your Facebook page's name in the search box.
From the dropdown results, select the top result (which should be your page).
Click on "Continue" to import your Facebook page into your business.
If you don't have a Facebook page:
Click on "Create New Facebook Page".
Fill in the required details for a restaurant:
Page Name: The name of your restaurant.
Description: A brief description of your restaurant.
Address: The physical address of your restaurant.
Phone Number: Your restaurant's contact number.
Website: If you have a website for your restaurant.
Category: Select "Restaurant" or a specific type of restaurant.
Profile Picture: Upload a picture representing your restaurant.
Cover Photo: A wider image showcasing your restaurant's ambiance or dishes.
Once all details are filled, click on "Create" or "Submit".
Managing Instagram Accounts
Click on "Instagram Accounts".
If you have an Instagram account:
Click on "Add Instagram Accounts".
A popup will appear, prompting you to log into your Instagram account. Enter your credentials and log in.
If you don't have an Instagram account:
Open a new tab in your browser.
Navigate to Instagram's signup page and create an account.
Managing Ad Accounts
Click on "Ad Accounts".
If an ad account doesn't exist:
Click on "Add Ad Accounts".
Fill in the necessary details. Add payment methods and enter the pin code.
Note: You can skip the tax ID if not applicable.
Connecting Assets
Navigate back to "Facebook Pages".
Click on "Connected Assets".
In the popup, select "Instagram Account".
Click on "Continue". Note: You might be prompted to log in again.
Go back to "Instagram Accounts".
Click on "Connected Assets".
Click on "Other Assets".
Select "Ad Accounts".
Choose your ad account from the list and then click "Add".
Go to Set-Up Guide
Ensure all are green checkmarks and fully connected.
This is where you invite [email protected] in the People Tab.
Sanity Checks to Ensure Ads Go Through and Minimize Errors
Non-Discriminatory Policy:
Make sure you don’t have "latest" in the URL.
Adding System Users:
Under Users, go to System Users.
Click on "Add".
A popup will appear.
Accept the policy.
Close the System Users add popup.
Validating Ad Account:
Under Accounts, go to Ad Account.
Click on the ad account.
Click on either the 3 dots in the latest view or Click on Open Ads Manager.
Open Ads Manager.
If the discriminatory policy appears, accept it always.
Billing and Payments:
Go to billing and payments on the sidebar.
Go to payment methods.
If you see missing edit permissions, modify them and assign yourself to be the finance editor.
Click next.
You might have to refresh the page.
Add a payment method.
Account Overview:
Go to Account Overview on the sidebar to the extreme left.
Ensure there is a payment method.
Ensure there is a Facebook page.
Verify the phone number (not required).
Verify the email address (required in most cases).
Setting the Primary Facebook Page
Go back to Business Settings under Meta Business.
Go to Business Portfolio Info on the sidebar.
Click on edit next to Meta Business Name.
Search your Facebook page in the 2nd input field.
Select your page.
Click Save.
